Only install trusted and well known programs. The programs listed below are safe and effective anti-virus, anti-malware, and anti-spyware applications and tools.
Do not attempt to run more than one anti-virus program at a time on your computer. Antivirus programs operate in a way in which they will conflict with each other and can make your computer run very slow. Always uninstall the current antivirus program (even if it is expired) before installing the new one. However, you can safely run more than one anti-spyware or anti-malware program at the same time.
